- These men met again in February of 1925 and began putting together the beginnings of our fire company. J.G. Valentine put forth that a plot of land measuring 184′ by 150′ located on Pulis Avenue between the schoolhouse (currently Franklin Avenue Middle School) and Mrs. Ewing’s house was available for $300.00.
- This information was presented to the Mayor and Council and Franklin Lakes Borough Ordinances No.7 and No.8 were introduced on March 13th, 1925 to officially authorize the spending of $300.00 to acquire a plot of land and build a firehouse on said property with the cost of the building not to exceed $22,000.00 and to Establish and Create a Fire Department in the Borough of Franklin Lakes and to Regulate, Govern and Control the same. Ordinances passed on April 10th of 1925.
- Construction was completed on October 9, 1926, the Pulis Avenue Fire House was formally dedicated by the Borough of Franklin Lakes.
- The firehouse was utilized from October 1926 until ? when the Bender Court Fire House was constructed.
- The original firehouse is still in standing today and being used by the Franklin Lakes Board of Education as their Board Building.
